Destiny: Nightfall Strike 3/10/15 Walk Through (Archon Preists)

Hey Internet,

Awesome here. You guys know that once a week I do something crazy for all of my fellow Destiny lovers out there. I get up at 3 am to create a walk through video for each weeks Nightfall Strike Mission. This week is no different. So…Because I love you, and Destiny a little to much. Here is this weeks Nightfall Strike Walkthrough. This weeks Nightfall is Archon Priests and the modifiers are:

Nightfall – If all players die, you will be returned to orbit.

Epic – Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers.

Arc Burn – Arc Damage from any source is greatly increased

Solar Burn – Solar Damage from any source is greatly increased

Void Burn – Void Damage from any source is greatly increased

Here is a quick text walk through I threw together really quick:
Winter’s Run:

To start out this strike mission you’ll find yourself in a very common place. The start of the “Patrol” missions on Venus. Sparrow up and ride off to your left. Follow the way point up through the open area and past the Fallen captain. Once you reach the “Respawn Restricted” area, jump off the Sparrow and get to work. While entering the cave you’ll see a small number of Fallen and Vex fighting it out. Clear them out and continue on. You’ll enter an area that has a Hyrda, Hobgoblins, and regular Goblins. If you have a sniper take out the Hobgoblins first. If not focus on the Hydra. Once the Hyrda is down take out the Goblins and move furtaer into this area. As you do you’ll see more Fallen Vandals (Sword and Snipers). Clear the remainder of the room and push through to the next section:

Once you reach the clearing (you might recognize it from the Scourge of Winter story mission) clear it of all the Vex and Fallen duking it out below you. Once you have you’ll need to drop Dinkle-bot onto the panel by the door and retreat to a position further up the hill you just fought your way down. This part (Just like Many Many Many other Strike missions) require you to protect Dinkle-bot through 3 different waves. It’s best to use a long range weapon (Scout rifle/sniper) and pick off the Vex as they spawn in. the First wave (as it always is) the easiest one. It’s made up of mostly Goblins and Harpies. The second wave is a bit more difficult as it spawns in Axis Minotaurs (yellow health bars), Harpies, and goblins. you’ll also notice at this point, if you are up the hill sniping, that three hobgoblins have appeared off to your left. For this wave, take out though Hobgoblins first then focus on the Minotaurs, Goblins, and Harpies. The Third wave consists of the regular Goblins, Harpies, and Minotaurs. But you’ll also have two Axis (Yellow Health) Hydras to deal with. I like to focus on the Goblins, harpies, and Minotaurs first then take out the Hydras. Once all three waves are dead you can move into the next part of this strike mission

Sparrow Ride through to the boss:

as you walk through the door Dinkle-Bot just opened for you, he will suggest that you hop on a pike. Don’t do that. Just jump on your sparrow and follow your wave point speeding past all the Vex that are around you. as long as you play it save a ride fast you’ll make it through this area with out having to get off your sparrow. This saves you about 10 minutes of play time. Once you reach the area with two Hydra’s you are forced to jump off the Sparrows. I still just run past the enemies and into the Boss area. It’s just faster that way.

Boss Fight:

Once you reach the boss area, you’ll need to clear the room of both Vex and Fallen. There is a Vex Minotaur and Fallen Captain in this initial clearing, but taking them out should be easy enough. Once that area is clear you’ll be able to bring in Aksor, The Archon Priest.

Because Bungie lacked imagination when they developed the Bosses for this game you are just battling a big, over powered captain. So treat him as one. He can deal massive amounts of solar damage and can teleport short distances. Stay away from him a focus on his head (Critical Spot). Just like every other boss, during this fight more Fallen will spawn in to help Aksor. move to an area where Aksor can not attack you and focus on taking out the Fallen that have spawned in. The best area to fall back into, when your shields are low is the area you entered this area from. Just jump back up onto those rocks and hide. No enemies will follow you. Once you have taken out the Fallen that have spawned in focus on Aksor again. Do this over and over until he is dead and gone.

    It’s always been for me, first wave goblins and minotaurs. Second goblins and hobgoblins and third wave harpies and hydras. Also I wouldn’t recommend flying straight through on ur sparrow if ur solo take 5 mins to clear everything. A couple of lucky shots and your spending 15mins getting bk to where you were. Not worth the risk seen so many ppl get wiped out there.
